These are maybe the most commonly misidentified manual/auto cars. I’d say most cars are misidentified 15-20% of the time; with the e46 smg it’s more like 33% or higher.

A week ago I found a nice dark green E46 M3 with the cinnamon interior... my dream M3. I called the seller, checking to make sure it was actually a manual (no pics I could tell in) and he says “yeah of course!”

I start thinking over the money and stuff, it was priced pretty fairly... then he sends me some more interior pics and it’s SMG :(
